Visiting hours: 6:30 AM - 06:00 PM
Built in 1988 by industrialist G.D. Birla, the Sun Temple in Gwalior is modeled after the iconic Konark Sun Temple in Odisha. The shrine features red sandstone architecture on the exterior and white marble in the interior. It is designed in the shape of a grand chariot pulled by seven horses, dedicated to the Sun God. The temple is surrounded by manicured green gardens, making it a peaceful spot for both devotees and travelers looking for quiet surroundings away from city traffic.
